We love floral wreaths because they make us feel welcome and secure. We have three favourites this Easter. To make sure our guests see it first, we’re hanging this elegant half wreath on the front door. The Apricot Floral Easter Wreath will go over the mantlepiece so everyone can admire its laser cut wooden butterflies, tulips in apricot, and delicate speckled eggs. We love egg wreaths, too, and found the perfect place for this rustic piece in the dining room.
Baskets like this one decorated with delightful daisies would look dandy on a sideboard, end table, or as a centrepiece. We recommend filling it with gourmet goodies and turning it into a petite hamper.
At Eastertime, we turn to tulips for their old-world charm. We also leave plenty of room for radiant sunflowers and pairings of pink and green, such as dahlias with allium, peonies with green cissus, and amaranthus with money leaf.
Nothing surpasses Australian native floristry for lush colours, distinctive shapes, and tantalising textures to tempt the senses. Sprays of eucalyptus look divine encircling place settings and lining tables. They also add volume and contrast wonderfully with grevillea sprays. Woolly-headed craspedia (Billy buttons) in mauve and gold make us think of whimsical fairy-tale landscapes. Use them in vases and to create miniature forest homes for your figurines. Since Easter takes place in Australia’s autumn, gold setaria would look wonderful in vases and along mantlepieces, sideboards, and shelves.
Secrets from our Easter Experts
You’ll enjoy the ease of decorating with floristry. Start simple and you’ll find your own flair in no time. Wrap stems around the arms of overhead light fixtures and the bodies and shades of table and floor lamps. Build centrepieces that extend the length of the dining table, wrapping vinelike around place settings, LED candles, and serving bowls. Choose two floristry items and put together simple arrangements in vases, flowerpots, and large jars. We suggest selecting one or two colourful stems and then coupling them with sprays of greenery. For some extra Easter magic, place a quirky pick or two among the floristry.
We hope we’ve inspired you to start decorating with fabulous floristry.
